UN concerned over HR situation in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD (NNI): The UN Security Council has expressed concern over deteriorating human rights situation in Afghanistan calling on all the Afghan warring factions to lift ban and restrictions on the activities of aid workers, reports VOA.
The Council also warned Taliban that their deeds have posed a threat to the world security. The member sates of the Security Council condemned Taliban for carrying out illegal activities including drug production in their controlled areas. The Council said that the impression is getting strength day by day that the Taliban's controlled territory is being used a base for creating disturbance and violence in other countries.
The UN Security Council again urged the Taliban to hold talks with other Afghan groups for the restoration of peace and establishment of a broad based representative government in Afghanistan.
