Oct.2002: Here was once a memorial tower called "Abdee Maiwand" (or 'Sapahi Gomnam') for those who lost their lives in the war of independence against British troops in 19th century. But it was completely destroyed during Northern Alliance bands savage infighting from 1992-96.
