Person Released by Hijackers of Indian Plane Goes to Afghanistan

Islamabad, Jan. 18, Irna - Maulana Masood Azhar, one of the three Kashmiri fighters, got released by the hijackers of Indian plane last month, is reported to have proceeded to Afghanistan. Maulana Masood Azhar, a Kashmiri freedom fighter, on Monday visited Dera Ismail Khan town of the North-West Frontier Province and held a meeting with the Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam chief, Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman, press reports here said. One report said that Maulana Azhar has left for Afghanistan 'to release the us pressure on Pakistan' about his activities. Maula Azhar, Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar and another Kashmiri fighter were released by the Indian government on 31st of December last year, under the pressure of hijackers of its plane. India has accused that the hijackers had proceeded to Pakistan after handing over the plane in Afghanistan but Islamabad has denied the claim, saying legal action would be taken if the hijackers arrived there.
