10-Years-Old Boy Publicly Executes A Man Convicted By Taliban

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) -- Thousands of people watched Sunday as a 10-year-old boy publicly executed a man convicted by an Islamic court of murdering his father.
In a sports stadium in southern Kandahar, the boy shot the man, identified as Mohammed Hashim, four times with a rifle.
Under the Taliban's strict interpretation of Islam, relatives of a victim carry out the death sentence.
The boy, who was the eldest male member of his family, was accompanied by his mother, sister and 6-year-old brother.
It's not clear how or when the boy's father was killed.
Also in the stadium the Taliban ordered the right hand and left foot of a man amputated after he was found guilty of highway robbery.
Simple theft is punished with the amputation of the right hand. But highway robbery is punished with the amputation of both the hand and the foot.
The Taliban, who are largely Sunni Muslims and Pashtun, Afghanistan's majority ethnic group, adhere to a strict version of Islam.

Reports from Afghanistan say that a public execution took place in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif yesterday of a man for alleged murder.
Thousands of people crowded a football ground to watch one of the victim's relatives execute the alleged murderer.
The man was condemned to death by a local military court; the verdict is reported to have been approved by the Taleban's supreme leader, Mullah Omar.

KABUL: A man convicted by a Taliban court of killing five members of a family was publicly executed in the Afghan city of Herat, the state-run Radio Shariat reported Saturday.
Thousands of people thronged the city's sports stadium to watch the victims' heir execute Ghulam Ghaus on Friday. Herat Governor Mulla Khairullah Khairkhwa and other Taliban officials were also present.

ISLAMABAD (NNI): Taliban have publicly executed a murder in the presence of thousands of people in Paktia Province, reports Radio Kabul.
Niaz Mohammad of Sharkot district in Paktika had killed his father Sarwar Khan some time ago.
The killer was arrested by the Taliban security officials and handed over to the concerned quarters.
The killer confessed to his crime during the investigation. He was accordingly awarded punishment in the light of the Islamic law of Qisas.
