Afghans stop reconstruction of Aliabad hospital in Kabul

PESHAWAR-Due to unrealistic attitude of some Taliban leaders the UNICEF personnel could not complete the reconstruction of Aliabad Hospital, damaged during fighting between the warring Mujahideen factions.

The UNICEF in connection with its efforts regarding reconstruction of war affected Afghanistan had started repairment of Ali Abad Hospital in De Mazang area of Kabul. The hospital was recently looted by some of Taliban soldiers and workers and 18 of them are under trial at Kabul.

On completion of Char Deewari of the hospital, Taliban authorities have approached the UNICEF officers and asked them to hand over all funds.
